Chappell Family Campout

We love you!!

So, for camping we went to the Aquarius Ranger station, it was convenient because there was warm water when needed and beds for those that traveled all the way from Nebraska just to camp with us. In the house there is a journal from people that have stayed there, they all wrote about the weather and all the flaws the place had (they were obviously from the city- ha ha!!), so we added our little entry!

So about the guys?? We often wonder ourselves. When they get together it is very entertaining. They were asked by my Dad to put up a tarp so if it rained again the kitchen area would have a cover. I think the hardest part was trying to get the rope (which was tied to a rock!) around the chimney to tie up the tarp. At the bottom of this post is a video in relation to the attempt to get the rope around the chimney!! Oh Boy!!!

So, we had our annual family campout this last weekend. It was a lot of fun- as it always is. We went on a hike to Pine Creek Lake( i think thats the name). We had all ages, from 3 months to my Dad's (yes Dad, I won't let that get out). The kids all did awesome. It did rain on us (when doesn't it when we camp!) while hiking, which wasn't too bad on the way up, but when we started heading back down the mountain it had started to just pour rain. We all parked ourselves throughout the trees and bushes until the rain had lightened up a little. I think by the time we were about half-way down the hill all of the younger kids were being carried except for my nephew , who is three years old. He was such a tough guy. I love that kid and his "willy dance".

Maren (8), Taylor (almost 6), April (11), Jayden (14)

So the last night we were there the girls had my Dad set up a tent for just them. My little Taylor actually spent the whole night with them in the tent! I am so proud of her.

Alcy and Anthony enjoyed riding the propane tank

Camden's first "official" camping trip!! He absolutely loved it!

It's okay Curt, we know you "threw your back out" last week! wink*wink*
